Family Support Services
The Family Support Services Team has a deep belief in the philosphy of palliative care and offers a committed service, the heart of which is supporting patients and their families during illness and into bereavement.
Our team responds to a variety of patient and family needs - be it involvement in care or planning for a patient's discharge or supporting family members through the complexities of form filling, along with offering emotional support to all. This includes helping the adults in families to find ways of supporting children.
As well as engaging with patients and families in support of their spiritual or religious needs, our chaplain is regularly invited to conduct funerals; offering compassion and comfort to families at a difficult time.
Support in bereavement is offered through a group or one to one sessions, and our Outreach Counsellor is strongly committed to taking the bereavement support service out to the remote areas of the Highlands.
Full information about our Bereavement Support Services is available in our Bereavement Support Services Information Booklet.
