Education
The education needs of healthcare workers for palliative care have changed over the years.
Difficulties in releasing staff for classroom study days and financial constraints have meant that we need to think of different ways of delivering education and this is compounded in the Highlands by the distances between remote and rural populations. We are in the process of developing the education section of our website to include information about the range of on line learning programmes that are already available Scotland wide and we will offer guidance about their suitability for different disciplines and appropriate levels of learning.
We also plan to make available on line our own learning packs on palliative care topics and our clinical policies and procedures with specific sections appropriate to Care Homes and these are currently being assimilated. Watch this space for updates on our progress.
