Refurbished Highland Hospice Shop Opens in Fort William

6th May 2013

Highland Hospice opened the doors to its upgraded Fort William shop on Saturday 4 May 2013, after undergoing a major refurbishment.

Local lady Margaret Simpson, a long term supporter of the Hospice, who organises Heather’s Walk in Fort William every year for the charity, cut the ribbon to open the new look store.

Attending the opening of the store were many of the shop’s volunteers, Highland Hospice Retail Manager Susan Cooper and the shop’s new supervisor Maggie Wilson.

Highland Hospice Retail Manager Susan Cooper said,

“I am delighted with the improvements which have been made to our Fort William shop.  Thanks to everyone who came along to its opening, especially our volunteers and new supervisor Maggie Wilson for their help.  Grateful thanks also to the tradesmen who worked exceptionally hard to get the shop ready on time:  Alastair Wardlaw (joiner), Maclean & Mackinnon (painters), Kevin Murphy (electrician) and Campbell & Gillies (plumber).”

I really hope that these changes, which include a new ceiling, fittings and redecoration, will help us to keep attracting customers to our wonderful shop.”
