Mike Rattenbury

Chaplain

Mike’s first hospice was in Hull, in 1999. This was part-time, alongside church ministry, then full-time in 2003 combining chaplaincy with staff development.  He joined Highland Hospice in 2005. Working in palliative care has challenged Mike’s many beliefs, deepening those that matter while teaching him to be comfortable with theological loose ends!
Mike is married to Carol and stays on the Black Isle, with just enough land for some hens and a couple of pigs. He and Carol have spent a lot of time renovating the house, but enjoy being in the hills with boots, camera and fishing rods.  Mike also enjoys history, reading, Celtic music, supporting Ross County, the local church, and managing the AHPCC website. His two sons and one daughter-in-law stay in England.
