Since the 14th century there has been an estate just west of the village of Avoch on the Black Isle. Formerly known as Pittanochtie, the estate was owned by the Mackenzies but when James Douglas Fletcher bought it in 1864 it was known as Rosehaugh. He built a fabulous house there designed by William Flockhart but unfortunately it was demolished in 1959.

The Estate boasts many beautiful walks, holiday cottages and historical points of interest, within a short drive of Inverness City.
