Every year over 2,000 people die in the Highlands following a period of declining health, during which they could benefit from the care provided by Highland Hospice. Our ambition is to be able to support every one of these people with the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
We can only do this with your help! Hospice Day is your annual opportunity to support Highland Hospice in making a lasting difference. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses offering matched funding, every penny you donate or raise in the lead-up to or on 27th March 2025 will have DOUBLE the impact.
We believe that every moment matters. We go above and beyond to help those approaching the end-of-life to live as fully as possible for the time they have left. We’re here for people from the point of their diagnosis until the end of their life. And we’re here for those close to them, for as long as we’re needed. The most valuable resource for us is our people. Our doctors and nurses, physiotherapists and social workers, chaplain and care at home workers, bereavement counsellors and occupational therapists. All of them play a vital role in providing care focussed on the person, taking account of their wishes and preferences as we plan their care and offer support to their family. This is why 70% of our outgoings is on salaries - so that our staff have the time and space to provide the support people need at this most critical time.
