Demystifying Death Week 2-6 May 2022

Demystifying Death week is about giving people knowledge, skills and opportunities to plan and support each other through death, dying, loss and care.

We are proud to be part of this week, which is lead by Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief, and will be hosting our own events throughout the week.

The week's topic of focus is 'Demystifying Death in the Workplace'. Please consider taking time to get together with your work colleagues on Wednesday 4th May to discuss conversations around death and dying that you might otherwise brush aside.

We would also urge your company to consider adopting the Bereavement Charter, which describes a vision for how we can all work together to ensure adults, young people and children who are experiencing bereavement are supported.

Both our 'By the River Cafe' and 'In the City Cafe' will be encouraging these open conversations throughout the week, with 'chatterboxes' on the tables to help initiate your conversations.

Our popular 'Last Aid' course will run a special online session on Friday 6th May between 10am and 130pm. Please click here to book on this course.

Finally our 'A Time to Remember' service will be broadcast on Saturday 7th May at 11am. Lead by Chaplain Norma Higgott, this offers the opportunity to reflect on the lives of those no longer with us. The focus of this service will be 'A Bridge Over Troubled Waters', helping those who join to cope with their individual loss and appreciate those who have helped, or are helping them, along the way.,
