Social Worker (p/t)

Due to service developments an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated social worker to join the Social Work team of Highland Hospice. The Hospice is committed to providing holistic care and the Social Work role is highly valued as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.

The Social Worker provides specific practical, emotional/social and therapeutic support, including complex family issues, and finance advice, to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families/carers. Knowledge and understanding of end of life care, pre and post bereavement issues, safeguarding issues relating to both adult protection and child protection, alongside extensive experience of multi-disciplinary team working is essential for this post.

The post holder will have well developed communication, counselling and advocacy skills and be able to develop effective working relationships with other health and social care colleagues both internally and externally in the wider community. The post holder will also work closely with, and provide additional support to, the Crocus Child Bereavement Service.  The role also incorporates the provision of training and education both internally and externally to the Hospice as required.

The post holder will have a Dip. or Degree in Social Work with current registration with SSSC. Additional qualifications in Mental Health, and therapeutic interventions desirable.

This post is subject to a PVG check.
