Sunflower Care at Home Workers & Co-ordinator – West Lochaber

Sunflower Home Care has been established by Highland Hospice to work in partnership with local communities to provide a Care at Home and Support service for people over the age of 18 in their own homes with varying different health and social care needs.

Sunflower Home Care, in partnership with Urram, is looking for part-time, flexible Care at Home Workers, one of whom may also take on a Care at Home Co-ordinator role for a few hours per week. You will work throughout the Urram area of West Lochaber which covers Western Ardnamurchan, Acharacle, Morvern, Sunart and Ardgour Community Councils.

We want to employ people who live in and know the area in which they will be working and who are committed to providing high quality support so if you live in or close to any of these communities, want to make a difference and feel you have the skills to offer, then we would like to hear from you. No previous experience in care is required as full training will be given. It is important to us that we employ people who share in our values which are:-

  • commitment to quality and being the best we can
  • treating the people we care for with compassion
  • showing dignity and respect to the people we care for and work alongside
  • to act with integrity and do the right things at all times
  • to take personal ownership and accountability for our actions

Your role will be varied but as a general guide, duties may include some support with personal care needs, medication, and assistance with meal preparation as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.

You will be required to register with the SSSC and will be supported to attain your SVQ qualifications. You will be encouraged to undergo continued personal development, adding to your skills. Uniforms will be provided together with all Personal Protective Equipment required.

Until we know how many service users we will be supporting, contracts will initially be “as and when”. You will be paid for every hour you work and receive an additional flat rate payment for travel between appointments.

Printable and electronic application forms and guidance notes are available on the Vacancies home page.

Closing date: Sunday, 20 September 2020.
