Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre have launched applications for next year’s Strictly Inverness.
A total of 32 men and ladies are required for the dance competition which will take place from Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 May 2018. Applicants must be over 18 and have little or no dance experience.
Highland Hospice Community Fundraiser Carrie MacIntyre said, “Strictly Inverness is a once in a lifetime experience which all of our previous competitors have thoroughly enjoyed. However, it is a huge challenge and commitment. Everyone who participates must attend at least 3 hours of dance tuition each week from January to May and, most importantly, commit fully to fundraising as much as possible for Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.”
Jane Fraser, Commercial Manager of Inverness Ice Centre added, “2018 will be a big year for Strictly Inverness as we are very close to having raised a net £1 million for the two charities over the years. This is the year that we will smash this figure which will be just phenomenal!”
The competition, which is held in Inverness Ice Centre, has been running since 2010, meaning that this will be its ninth event. Compered by Brian Elrick, it begins on Wednesday with a launch show featuring talent from various Highland dance schools. On Thursday and Friday nights, eight couples will perform two individual and one group dance and the top four from each night go through to Saturday’s Grand Final where the winning couple are crowned.
