Herbie's retirement raises £1,940 for Highland Hospice

9 July 2012

To celebrate Herbie Robson’s retirement from Baird Maltings, a party was held in Invergordon on Saturday 30 June. Herbie asked for donations to be made to the Hospice in lieu of gifts and an incredible £1,940 was raised on the night.

Over 250 people attended the party in the Invergordon Social Club, with friends travelling from all over the country to join in with the fun and listen to music from Broken Wings and Gary Gamble and The Gambin’ Men.

Life-long friend Muriel Mutch helped Herbie and his partner Margaret organise the party, and despite having a serious operation himself just weeks before the celebration, Herbie was determined to be out of hospital and at the party to enjoy his night.

Herbie, Margaret and Muriel came in to the Hospice to hand over the kind donation, and they were able to see first-hand how the money they raised will help everyone at Highland Hospice.
