Community Engagement

The work of the hospice is not limited to the building in Inverness.

We work across the Highlands in various different ways promoting quality end-of-life care in both a clinical and social setting – from hospital to home.

This work includes – but is not limited to:

We support our community partners as we would an individual - by listening to your wishes and tailoring a service that is practical, professional and sustainable, for you to deliver with our support.

Evaluation of our Community Engagement Activity

Highland Hospice works in partnership with community-based organisations to deliver befriending and care at home services in remote Highland communities. SKS Scotland CIC were commissioned to undertake an evaluation of the Hospice’s partnership working to deliver these services. The work was conducted between July and October 2023 and the final report is provided below.

Evaluation aims

  • To understand the community partner organisations’ experiences of working with Highland Hospice to deliver befriending and care at home services, to include volunteer experiences.
  • To understand the impact and value for service users of befriending and care at home services provided by Highland Hospice and community partner organisations.
