Another 'Truly Terrible' Christmas Concert!

8 December 2015

The Truly Terrible Orchestra will be “delighting” their long-suffering audience once again at their Annual Charity Christmas Concert on Tuesday 15th December 2015 at 7.30pm in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness.

This fun-filled, family event has proved a hit with Inverness audiences for the last five years and this year promises to be “an Evening of Christmas Sparkle & Festive Fun” with a varied programme of fabulous music making from Bizet to the Muppets! There are also plenty of festive pieces & carols and the TTO’s new musical director, John Brozovsky, has composed and arranged three Christmas pieces especially for the occasion.

All the hard work isn’t left to the orchestra though - the audience are encouraged to bring along their own instruments (tambourines, triangles, anything you can make a noise with…) to join in with the musical mayhem!

Over the last five years the TTO have raised thousands of pounds for local charities and this year's concert proceeds are being donated to the Highland Hospice. Tickets (£8 suggested donation) are available from the Music Shop, 27 Church St, Inverness and TTO members.

The Truly Terrible Orchestra is a group of 'lapsed' amateur musicians based around the Inverness & Moray Firth area. Most enjoyed playing music at school and decided to get playing again or have taken up a new instrument later in life.  As the name suggests, their attitude to music-making is very relaxed and always about having a laugh! They have no entry requirements apart from enthusiasm and a good sense of humour! The TTO rehearses on Tuesday evenings in Fairways Golf Club, Inverness and they play a huge variety of music from Beethoven to Bacharach but it’s always about the joy of music making!

The Orchestra was founded in 2006 by Anni Cole-Hamilton and their musical director John Brozovsky leads the group with great skill, humour and endless patience.  As well as performing in their annual Charity Christmas concert every December, the TTO have many memorable musical accolades such as performing at the internationally-acclaimed Tartan Heart Festival at Belladrum in 2011 and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations at Brodie Castle in 2012. In 2010 they were (against all odds…) awarded the Laoureux Challenge Trophy at the Inverness Music Festival in 2010!
