All Aboard: Ness Islands Railway Calls for Volunteers to Make the 2024 Season Unforgettable

Top local family-friendly attraction Ness Islands Railway, is gearing up for the 2024 season and actively seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its volunteer team.

The cherished Inverness institution which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023, relies on volunteers, who are described as “the heartbeat of the railway”, to ensure its success year after year.

The 2024 season will begin at the end of March to coincide with the school Easter holidays – and a new cohort of passionate and enthusiastic volunteers is needed to ensure the smooth running of the attraction.

Kepa Aristizabal, Deputy Manager Tourism and e-Commerce for the organization said: “We are so excited for the 2024 season, but we need your help!”

“We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic volunteers to join our volunteer team. Full training will be provided in various roles, including learning to drive one of the locomotives!”

Ness Island Railway volunteers may be tasked with greeting passengers, guiding them through the journey, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn new skills, from operating the locomotives to contributing to the overall customer experience.

Are you ready to be a part of the magic? Join us in making the 2024 season unforgettable! Apply now at NIR Volunteer Application or contact Karen Aristizabal at k.aristizabal@highlandhospice.org.uk.
