Competition and All Star entries encouraged!
Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre are urging potential contestants to get their applications in for next year’s Strictly Inverness dance competition.
The charities are looking for 32 people to fundraise between December and May, as well as learning three separate dances which will be performed at the shows between Wednesday 19 - Saturday 22 May 2027. All applicants must be over 18 and have little or no previous dance experience.
It’s not just novice dancers who are invited to get their forms in – the All Stars group dance will be making its return, with past contestants from years spanning between 2010 and 2026.
Highland Hospice fundraiser Jenna Hayden said, “The incredible success of this year’s Strictly Inverness has funded two Highland Hospice nurses for a year as well as contributing substantially to ongoing renovations for Inverness Ice Centre.”
“There’s always so much interest around this event, so we decided to open all applications in May. These will close on Sunday 25th October so if anyone is sitting on the fence, please get those forms in. It’s a big commitment and requires a lot of effort but the rewards are massive! Taking part in Strictly Inverness is such a unique experience – you will meet so many new people, learn to dance from scratch and perform in front of audiences of over 600 people.”
Karen McBey, Events Manager for Inverness Ice Centre said, “ The introduction of our ‘All Stars’ group dance created such a great atmosphere every night this year with an extra 20 dancers in the mix. If any previous dancers are keen to hit the floor again, do get your forms in, you’ll love the experience!”
She added, “We increased our corporate sponsorship opportunities this year, and were overwhelmed by the generosity of the many companies who supported us. We are again looking for local businesses to come on board for next year’s competition. Strictly Inverness has a long-standing reputation as an annual highlight in the Highlands’ social calendar so the potential exposure is massive.”
