Lairg GP Dr Slator has managed to raise over £3,500 for Highland Hospice and Assynt Care with the help of 6 other family members.

The group took on an incredible challenge to cycle 665 miles from Loughborough, in the English Midlands, to David’s home in Clashnessie, Stoer, in time for David’s 60th birthday party.

The group arrived in Lochinver at midday on Friday 6 June, with a sprint finish to Assynt Leisure, Lochinver.  After a brief rest, the group celebrated David’s birthday with many other family and friends.

Dr Slator was the only one of the 7 cyclists to complete every single mile of the challenge, with some having to start late due to prior commitments, and others missing one of more of the sections as a result of a variety of mishaps, such as a broken chain, illness and injury.

We would like to thank David, and all of the other cyclists who took part, for the amazing amount of money they have raised for the Hospice and Assynt Care.
