Nicola and Raymond's Portree Fun Day

23 April 2013

We would like to thank Nicola and Raymond Lamont for their family fun day and bake sale which took place in the Portree Community Centre on Friday 5th April.

The event raised £700, which was shared between Highland Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.  Both charities mean a lot to Nicola and Raymond, as they each lost their mother to cancer and were supported by the Hospice and Macmillan at the time.

Attractions on the day included a face painter, Highland Hospice’s mascot Bobby the Bee, a bouncy castle and a great raffle with lovely prizes donated by local businesses and supporters.  Delicious cakes made by Nicola’s company Cakes by Nicola* were also on sale.

Highland Hospice’s Regional Fundraiser Marie-Anne Vrac said, “Thank you so very much to Nicola and Raymond for organising this fabulous event which had a great turn out.  We really appreciate all their hard efforts in raising funds for the Hospice.  Nicola’s cakes were a huge attraction on the day and I was so impressed by her talent and creativity.”
