A group of four bikers are preparing to ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in 24 hours to raise funds for Highland Hospice.
This is the latest in a string of fundraisers for Hospice supporter George MacIver, who will be joined by Kevin and Diane Morrison and Lenny Cameron on Tuesday 12 June for the challenge. George, Kevin and Diane will be on motorbikes while Lenny will be on a scooter.
The four, otherwise known as The Pinot Warriors, are excited about their forthcoming 900 mile adventure.
George MacIver said, “I’ve done previous challenges in fancy dress which results in people noticing you along the route and donating even more to Highland Hospice. So we are having some discussions between the four of us about how we can grab some attention – various ideas have been muted including us dressing as The Village People, Abba or items of fruit!”
He added, “Highland Hospice is a cause close to my heart and I love biking so I am delighted to combine the two to offer any support I can. We are all looking forward to the challenge and hoping to raise as much as possible for the many people in the Highlands who use the hospice’s services.”
Highland Hospice’s Fundraising Manager Amanda Burt said, “We are so grateful to George, Kevin, Diane and Lenny for supporting Highland Hospice through this challenge and wish them all the best. We’re looking forward to hearing how they get on – and what they dress up as!”
