Charity joins forces with Limelight Event Services, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and local bands to put the sparkle back into Christmas

Highland Hospice is joining forces with local businesses and bands to deliver Christmas party nights whilst adhering to the current Covid-19 restrictions. The charity’s exciting festive fundraising venture will enable groups of work colleagues, friends or families to get together and join in the fun – all from the comfort of their homes.

Limelight Event Services, based in Carsegate, will stage and broadcast three fun packed live party nights on Friday 4th, 11th and 18th December.

The first ‘Party At Your Place’ night, hosted by Liam Christie from North Highland Events, will have entertainment provided by Scooty and the Skyhooks. On the 11th December, Kenny Smith and Michael Macmillan from Torridon will host the party, providing music from themselves alongside studio band Rhythmnreel.

Finally, on ‘Mad Friday’ the 18th of December, the Hospice will join forces with Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival to bring a range of live acts including Dark Horse. This fabulous finale will be fronted by the full-of-fun Miss Scarlet Diamonte (aka Strictly Inverness host Brian Elrick).

Each party will take place between 8pm – 10pm and will be broadcast via YouTube.

Highland Hospice Fundraiser Emma Nicol said, “We are so excited about this venture, and are delighted to be joining forces with Limelights, Belladrum and so many fantastic local acts to deliver these parties. It is free of charge to join the fun, we are simply asking for a donation to Highland Hospice.”

“So many people have commented about how disappointed they are not to be able to have a Christmas party this year, so we are providing the next best thing. The idea is that you can link with your colleagues, friends and family over a video conferencing link such as Zoom or FaceTime whilst watching the live party on YouTube.”

“It’s a chance to get your festive glam on and have fun, music and drinks with whoever you choose when you can’t be in the same venue together.”

“These nights will be as interactive as possible – we are setting up a Twitter account where you and your group can contact the host, send in your photos and ask for requests and shout outs. We’ll also be throwing in some fun extras where a willing member of your group might be thrown into the spotlight!”

Emma added, “Special thanks to Limelight Event Services for working with us on this to deliver high quality parties, all of the bands who are performing – and to Dougie and all at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival for making our final night so very special.”

“With all of our fundraising events having been cancelled, we need support at this time more than ever before. It’s been a tough year not only for Highland Hospice, but also for local bands and businesses, so we are delighted to be helping provide a little bit of sparkle to the end of 2020 in return for a donation.”

Dougie Brown, Event Producer for Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival said, “We are delighted to be working alongside Highland Hospice and Limelights to bring some much needed festive cheer straight into people's homes this December and can’t wait to party with everyone!”
