We have launched an appeal for volunteers to help with the running of our new shop on Falcon Square, as well as the brand new ‘Drop and Shop’ warehouse on Harbour Road.
The warehouse and Harbour Road shop which stocks a large variety of discount items, are open now, while the Falcon Square premises are due to open to the public for the first time on Monday 17 May.
Volunteer Manager Maria Cuthbert explained, “We are so grateful to everyone who has been along to our new warehouse to drop off donations. So many people had a large clear out during lockdown and very kindly held onto their items for us. We had to close the warehouse for a couple of days last week, just to catch up - and could really use some extra help to keep on top of things.”
She continued, “The opening of our shop on Falcon Square is eagerly anticipated, and again, we really need a few extra pairs of hands to help it run to its full potential.”
“All three of these brand new premises are to be open 7 days a week, so we particularly need cover for Saturday and Sunday shifts. There are a variety of tasks you can do as a retail volunteer, depending on preference and ability, within a friendly working environment. Volunteering for just a few hours a week really could make a big difference to the care we provide, as well as offering a sense of achievement by helping a great cause within the Highland community.”
Highland Hospice could simply not run without the overwhelming support and generosity of volunteers and donors.
If you wish to donate items to the Hospice, please note the change of address for the warehouse which is now located at Units 2&4, 39 – 41 Harbour Road.
