An annual golf day held by the Kingsmills Hotel in aid of Highland Hospice has raised a record amount this year, bringing in a total of £66,970.
The event on Friday 23rd September, the seventh held by the hotel, began at the Struie Course, Royal Dornoch Golf Course, with 28 four-men teams participating. An evening celebration, auction and prize-giving followed, held in the Kingsmills Hotel.
Highland Hospice Corporate Fundraiser Karen Duff, said, “We are so grateful to the Kingsmills Hotel for their continued incredible support, and the Golf Day this year was just phenomenal. Since 2014 the hotel has raised over £300,000 for the Hospice which is absolutely outstanding and we can’t thank Tony, Craig, Tracey and the team enough for all that they do to support us.”
Craig Ewan, Operations Director of the Kingsmills Group, commented, “We are delighted with the Kingsmills Golf Day, and to be able to raise such a significant amount for Highland Hospice, a charity close to all our hearts. The sun was shining in Dornoch and a great day was had by all, made even better by the fantastic hot dogs and burgers provided by Bubble and Goose at the turn. Thanks so much to all the local businesses who submitted a team and donated prizes to our auction – we couldn’t run this event without all of their incredible support.”
The tournament this year was won by Highland Office Supplies, who were delighted to accept their award at the prize-giving dinner.
We are absolutely delighted that the Kingsmills Hotel have already started planning next year's event, issuing a "save the date" for Friday 22nd September 2023.
