A darts competition held in the Clachnaharry Inn on Saturday 27 August has raised an incredible £6,475 for Highland Hospice.
The annual Clachnaharry Darts Challenge, raised £2,500 for the charity last year and aimed to double this amount in 2023.
Organiser Liam MacAskill said, “We were delighted to have raised such a massive amount last year and, having decided that this year would be our last, we wanted to go out with a bang. Doubling the amount would have been a great achievement, but raising almost £4000 above it has really blown my mind!”
Liam continued, “The success of this event wouldn’t have been possible without the overwhelming generosity of so many people. Huge thanks to our main sponsor United Express Deliveries Ltd, the Clachnaharry Inn for allowing us the use of the venue, Macleod Trophies for sponsoring the trophies and the very talented Matthias Kremer Photography for donating his time and skills.”
Highland Hospice Fundraiser Carrie Macdonald said, “We are so grateful to Liam for the hard work and effort he’s put into this competition over the past few years. This year has been exceptional - for a darts event to raise such a high figure sum is honestly incredible.”
“Our heartfelt thanks go to Liam and all those who supported this event, bringing in £6,475. The amount raised will make a real difference to the patients, families and communities who rely on our care and support.”
“You’re a true star Liam and your hard work is thoroughly appreciated. Hope you are getting the chance to put your feet up now.”
