Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre have announced Scots actor Jordan Young as host of the well-loved dance competition Strictly Inverness next year.

Jordan is a well-known face of stage and screen in Scotland. Since 2013 he has played the charming bad-boy businessman Alex Murdoch in BBC Scotland's River City; and is also familiar as the flirtatious PC Jack McLaren in BAFTA winning comedy Scot Squad.

Earlier this month he performed in Eden Court as Ronnie in the heart-warming one-man play ‘Man’s Best Friend’ and has become a well-loved pantomime lead in Edinburgh. This year he takes the title role in Jack and the Beanstalk’ at the city’s Festival Theatre, alongside Grant Stott and Allan Stewart.

Wendy Morgan, Communications Manager for Highland Hospice commented, “We are delighted to have Jordan confirmed as our host for next year’s 15th anniversary shows. He brings a wealth of experience from the world of Scottish showbiz, with wide and varied roles spanning TV, film, theatre and pantomime; as well as regularly hosting large-scale events such as the VSA Partnership Ball in Aberdeen and Scotland’s Learning Partnership Awards.”

She added, “Announcing Jordan, along with the return of Anton du Beke and the introduction of a Strictly ‘All Stars’ group dance, is creating a huge buzz around next year – we can’t wait to get started on the 15th anniversary celebrations!”

In a video for the charities Jordan Young said, “I’m absolutely thrilled, buzzing, excited, over the moon and delighted to announce that I’m going to be hosting Strictly Inverness in May 2026!  I was going to be dancing but they cancelled that because I’d obviously win – so I’m just going to host instead. See you there folks!”

Both Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre expressed their gratitude towards previous host Brian Elrick, whose dedication and showmanship has kept Strictly Inverness audiences entertained since 2011.
