NATIONAL BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT ORGANISATIONS

Grief Encounter's website contains lots of helpful resources and information, including a memory board for teenagers to post on, and an emotional first-aid kit for children.

Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people in Scotland. It can provide telephone and face-to-face support for bereaved adults, as well as support groups. Hope Again is Cruse Bereavement Care’s website for young people, and The Little Website may help younger bereaved children.

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.

Winston’s Wish was the UK’s first childhood bereavement charity and provides support to bereaved children, their families, and the professionals who support them. The website contains lots of useful resources for supporting bereaved children.

The Lullaby Trust raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), provides expert advice on safer sleep for babies and offers emotional support for bereaved families.

SiMBA – Simpson’s Memory Box Appeal (SiMBA) supports those affected by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or close to the time of birth.

WAY Widowed and Young is the only national charity in the UK for men and women who were age 50 or under when their partner died. It’s a peer-to-peer support group run by a network of volunteers who have been bereaved at a young age themselves

The Compassionate Friends offer support to bereaved families after the death of a child of any age.

Brake is a road safety charity that provides a helpline for anyone bereaved as a result of a road crash.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing support, encouragement and awareness-raising to people who have been affected by bereavement by suicide, or self-inflicted death.

The Courage Foundation UK support bereaved children and their families through the provision of days out and annual passes to theme parks 'Therapy through Themeparks'
