Team Focus Get Into Gear for Black Isle Cycle Challenge

9 April 2012

Three members from Focus Vehicle Rental in Inverness are continuing to show their support for Highland Hospice by gearing up for their next cycle challenge.

Ali Davidson, Christine Robertson and John Macrae cycled for five days through America’s Death Valley last November, covering over 266 miles and climbing to 5500 ft, raising an incredible £7,366 for the Hospice.

Now the trio are set to get on their bikes again on April 28th, to participate in Highland Hospice’s 25th Anniversary Black Isle Cycle Challenge, which is sponsored by Ord Industrial & Commercial Supplies Ltd.

Ali Davidson said, “Christine, John and I are all keen amatuer cyclists and are well aware of the invaluable services provided by Highland Hospice to the local community. Highland Hospice has always held a special place in my heart having cared for my father before he passed away in 1997. We are keen to do as much as we can for the charity, which is why we are getting back on the saddles again in April!”

The Black Isle Cycle Challenge offers four options –15, 20 and 26 mile routes and a six mile family trail. Each starts and ends at the Resolis Hall. After the challenge, participants can enjoy refreshments, cakes and a barbecue whilst listening to some live music.

Highland Hospice’s Community and Events Fundraiser Amanda Burt said, “We are so very grateful to Christine, John and Ali for the incredible amount they raised from the Death Valley Challenge. It is wonderful that Focus has once again entered a team into this year’s Black Isle Cycle Challenge and we would like to urge companies, families and individuals alike to join them this year to raise funds for Highland Hospice.”

She added, “Even Highland Hospice’s new mascot Bobby the Bee has been on his bike in preparation for our 25th Anniversary event, but we are not sure how far he will get!”
