An exclusive whisky auction organised by the Kingsmills Hotel as part of their Sunflower Ball event for Highland Hospice, is to be launched in the lead-up to the event which takes place on Saturday 16th November.
Nineteen special bottles of whisky will be listed online via auctioneers Whisky Hammer from Wednesday 30th October until Sunday 3rd November. These include labels such as North British 58 and whisky enthusiasts are invited to place their bids during this time by visiting https://www.whiskyhammer.com/auction/current.php
Over and above this, a select few 'special lots' will be on offer at the event itself, in the Kingsmills Hotel on Saturday 16th November. Included will be the trio of bottles made for Highland Hospice in celebration of the charity's 35th anniversary, with an estimated value of over £10,000. For anyone who is not attending the event, Whisky Hammer will be collecting interested bids in the run up.
Highland Hospice's Corporate Fundraiser Karen Duff said, "Huge thanks to Stephen Rankin, Director of Prestige at Gordon & MacPhail, who has organised both parts of this incredible Whisky Auction and also Whisky Hammer who will be donating their 12.5% buyers commission to Highland Hospice.”
She added, "Stephen's knowledge is second to none when it comes to whisky and we are so grateful for his very generous support. We urge any whisky connoisseur to take a look at this fabulous auction once it is live and get bidding in aid of Highland Hospice."
The Kingsmills Hotel has pledged huge support to Highland Hospice in recent years, and staff hope to reach their target of raising a phenomenal £500,000 for the charity by the end of this year. The Sunflower Ball will feature special guest speaker Rory Bremner, and as well as the Whisky Auction, there will be music from CALA and Torridon's Kenny Smith and Michael MacMillan. Tony Story said “We are delighted to deliver and bring back the Sunflower Ball this year. Many thanks to everyone involved who has helped make this happen we are very much looking forward to what will be a spectacular event”.
Karen concluded, "Tony Story and his team at the Kingsmills Hotel have gone above and beyond in their incredible fundraising drive for Highland Hospice. They have raised funds in so many different ways - from taking part in organised Hospice events like our Rowing Regatta to hosting their own annual Golf Day."
"We really can't thank everyone involved enough. These funds are making a huge difference to our patients and their loved ones, who so greatly rely on our care and support - both within the Hospice and out in the wider Highland communities. Thank you so much. We still have tickets available for the Sunflower Ball, please get in touch if you would like to join us k.duff@highlandhospice.org.uk"
Stephen Rankin said “Gordon & MacPhail and the Urquhart family are delighted to support. After a long association with the Highland Hospice it’s a great honour to support them in their fundraising endeavours and be part of such a wonderful event.”
