Highland Hospice’s rescheduled Bungee Loch Ness and Catapult Loch Ness events will be back with a bang on the weekend of Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, joined by a third attraction – Zipline Loch Ness!
Due to high winds in September, the previously scheduled event featuring a traditional bungee jump or a reverse bungee where participants are catapulted into the air, was cut short after the first day.
Fundraiser Emma Nicol commented, “We are just delighted to be able to reschedule these events over another full weekend, and introduce a Zipline Loch Ness as a third alternative. We think this option will be really popular, as it would be difficult to find a more stunning location to slide 1800 feet above!”
“Last year, everyone who managed to complete their challenge on Saturday 2nd September was absolutely buzzing, so we were really disappointed that the Sunday couldn’t go ahead. However, there is no predicting the Highland gales!”
“We can’t wait to see all those people who have been waiting eagerly to complete their challenge, as well as lots of new sign ups across all three daredevil activities. This really is the ultimate bucketlist challenge.”
Once again the charity is working closely with UK Bungee Club (UKBC) who have a 100% safety record and were responsible for the Hospice’s abseil and zipline challenges in 2021 and 2022.
Those who choose to do a bungee or catapult will be secured to a 160 ft crane for each event, in order to go either up into the air, or downwards – depending on their preference. The bungee will run on Saturday 1st June, while the catapult option will take place on Sunday 2nd.
The Zipline will run on both days, at a height of 1800 feet, running across the iconic landscape of the banks of Loch Ness.
Emma continued, “Those participating will be fully guided by the highly skilled UKBC and Big Bang Promotions. Each event provides the perfect opportunity for adrenalin chasers to get their fix whilst supporting an amazing local cause. Some will choose to do one, others might take on two or even three of the incredible challenges we are offering.”
She added, “We are so grateful to our main event sponsor, Ord Industrial Supplies for their support. Huge thanks also to Alba Traffic Management, McDonald Scaffolding and the local community at Loch Ness for making this exciting event a possibility, and to Stoddart Crane Hire for the invaluable use of their cranes at the event. We really can’t wait for June!”
